About The Directors

Mr. Landgrebe

David Landgrebe is in his eighth year at Spring High School and first year as the Head Choral Director. He conducts the Chorale, Chorale Women, Chorale Men, Chamber Choir, & Concert Men.  David also assists with the Vocal Production Class, A Cappella Women, Concert Women.  Choirs under his direction and co-direction have consistently earned Sweepstakes at University Interscholastic League Concert and Sight-Reading Contest.  In the summer of 2007 David was named an inaugural recipient of the Distinguished Young Director Award given by the membership of the Texas Choral Directors Association.

David is very active in his service to the music education field, having served as the Facilities Chair for the Vocal Division of the Texas Music Educators Association in 2008 and 2009 and as a section leader or organizer for multiple region choirs.  He currently serves as computer tabulations coordinator for Region IX and helps coordinate technology  annually during the Texas Choral Directors Association conference.  David also is currently in his second term as the TMEA Area D Vocal Chair.

David is a Summa Cum Laude graduate from the University of Houston where he received the Bachelor of Music degree with elective studies in Music Education. While at U of H, he studied conducting and music education with Dr. Betsy Cook Weber and Dr. Charles Hausmann and voice with Katherine Ciesinski and Patryk Wroblewski.

A recipient of a Texas Music Educators Association educational scholarship, his professional affiliations include ACDA, TCDA, TMEA, Phi Kappa Phi and Pi Kappa Lambda.  In 2009 David joined the membership of the Texas Music Adjucators Association.  David resides in Spring.

 

Ms. Dean

Steffanie Dean is in her fourth year of teaching choir in Spring ISD and her first year as Associate Choir Director at Spring High School. She conducts A Cappella Women and Concert Women. She also teaches “Vocal Production” a new, full-year general music class for non-choir members. She assists with Chorale, Chorale Women, Chorale Men, Chamber Choir and Concert Men. Before coming to Spring HS, Steffanie taught on the middle school level for three years, where her choirs repeatedly earned Sweepstakes at University Interscholastic League Concert and Sight-Reading Contest, as well as several “Best in Class” awards and “Outstanding Performance” awards at other music festivals and choral invitational contests.

In addition to teaching, Steffanie has an active singing career in and around the Houston area. She is currently a Choral Intern and Substitute Conductor of the MDPC
Sanctuary Choir at Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church. She has also sung with CANTARE Houston and Houston Symphony Chorus.

Steffanie graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Music degree in Voice Performance. She studied choral conducting with Dr. Betsy Cook Weber and Dr. Charles Hausmann and orchestral conducting with Maestro Franz Krager. She studied voice with Joan Gibbons and the late Debria Brown. While at UH, she sang in three choral ensembles and performed leading and supporting roles in many Moores Opera productions, under the direction of Buck Ross.

Her professional affiliations include TCDA, TMEA and Sigma Alpha Iota. She resides in Spring with her fiancé, Sam.

 

Mrs. Hinders

Amanda Say Hinders is in her first year of teaching and her first year as Assistant Choir Director at Spring High School.  She is in charge of Applied Music, Honors Choir, and Vocal Production.. She assists with Chorale, Chorale Women, Chorale Men, A Cappella Women, Concert Women, Chamber Choir and Concert Men.  Mrs. Hinders is a 2007 graduate of Canyon High School where she sang in the 2004, 2006 and 2007 All-State Choirs. 

Mrs. Hinders student taught at Deer Park Junior High and Deer Park High School and attended Michigan State University before returning to Canyon to complete her degree at West Texas A&M University in December 2011.  Her professional affiliations include TCDA & TMEA. She resides in Houston with her husband, Matthew.
