About The Directors                                                About The Voice Teachers

The Spring High Choral Department consists of approximately 375 students in eight auditioned performing choirs: Chorale, Chamber Choir, A Cappella Women, Concert Men, Vocal Production, Concert Women, Chorale Men and Chorale Women. The choral department has enjoyed success at all University Interscholastic League Concert/Sight-Reading competitions as well as individually at UIL Solo and Ensemble contests. The Spring Chorale has won every in-state and out-of-state competition in which it has competed since 1998 and the other ensembles have been just as successful.

In 2010-2011 seventy-three of the 275 students in the choral program were enrolled in the Spring ISD Music Enrichment Program, allowing them the opportunity to study private voice during the school day with one of the four voice teachers on staff. During the past fifteen years, an average of 42 students per year have earned membership in the Region IX All-Region choir. Since 1995, Spring High School has placed 55 singers in the Texas All-State Choirs.

Students in the choral program pride themselves in being well-rounded individuals. In 2010-2011 its membership includes 40+ members of the National Honor Society; 21 Academic Excellence recipients; participants in men's baseball, basketball, football, track and soccer; participants in women's basketball, golf, softball, soccer, tennis and track; students actively involvement in speech and debate with much of the cast from the all-school musical "Once on This Island" among it's ranks; several members of the award winning Spring High School band; a cheerleader; members of PALS, the yearbook, journalism and literary magazine staffs; and the student council. In addition, many students are involved in their community, local church music and youth programs and outreach ministries. Last year’s graduating class had several seniors who were seriously interested in pursuing a degree in music education, vocal performance, musical theater or music business.

The Board of Trustees, which has been honored as one of the most outstanding school boards in Texas, provides leadership and direction for the District as it strives to achieve its principal goal of developing students who excel academically, reason and solve problems rationally, and act responsibly by displaying good character and citizenship.

Spring High School, under the leadership of Principal Gloria Marshall, has been named a U.S. Department of Education National Blue Ribbon School, a Drug-Free School and a Texas Exemplary School.  Mrs. Donna Ullrich is in her third year serving as the principal of Spring High School.   Spring High takes pride in both the academic and extracurricular successes of its students and faculty members. The professional atmosphere and mutual respect between administrators and teachers, which has been developed, promoted by Marshall and continued by Ullrich, has fostered a unique climate of learning for the 3,700 students enrolled at Spring High School.
